
At the request of the Municipality, the Corporation of Commerce, Industry and Services, the Chamber of Commerce, and the Industrial Union of Bahía Blanca have recommended to their members that, if for any justified reason, their employees cannot attend their workplaces during the day on Monday, they should not be docked a day’s pay. This information was communicated by the contingency committee on Sunday night.
In the same communication, the situation at the Petrochemical Pole of the city was mentioned, where, after an inspection by the provincial Ministry of Environment, it was determined that the Guillermo Brown Thermoelectric Plant, Piedra Buena Plant, and Dow are out of service. TGS Cerri is only maintaining gas supply for residential use, while TGS Galván and Mega are operating without issues, and the Chlorine and VCM Plant is undergoing maintenance.
On the other hand, it was announced that Banco Nación will have four trucks with two ATMs each in different areas of the city, and the ATMs at the Don Bosco and Villa Mitre branches will be activated. Regarding assistance, 23 food distribution points have been established in various sectors of the city to ensure food security.
Regarding services in the city, it was reported that the company EDES, responsible for electrical service, has managed to restore 65% of the supply in various parts of the city, continuing work with 400 workers among its own and contractors. With respect to the supply of potable water, ABSA has placed tanks in strategic locations to ensure supply, in addition to providing large drainage pumps being used for water drainage in extensive underground surfaces.
